The Sales Program
consists of professional selling coursework and
educational experiences designed to prepare students for successful
careers in sales, marketing, and other areas. Students can take the
following sales-focused courses: MKT 360-Professional Relationship
Selling; MKT 401-Strategic Sales Leadership; MKT 465-Advanced
Professional Relationship Selling. Opportunities for sales-related
educational opportunities include: membership and leadership positions
in the Student Sales Network; competing or participating in the
National Collegiate Sales Competition; competing in The
Sales Cup; leadership positions in The RedShirt Company;
earning the Certified Sales Student Award; attending meetings
of the Louisville Sales Club; and being recognized at the Spring
Sell-A-Bration. Graduates can stay involved by becoming
associated with the Sales Alumni Network. The Sales Program is
fortunate to have the support of many Sales Program Partners.

The Student
Sales Network is a recognized
student organization at the University of Louisville. The student
club meets on a regular basis throughout the Fall and Spring
semesters. Members of the Student Sales Network can participate in
all Sales Program activities. In addition, members can become
official student members of the Louisville Sales Club. |

National Collegiate Sales Competition
The National Collegiate
Sales Competition is an annual sales role-play competition among
university students. The event is held at Kennesaw State University
and sponsored by many companies who also provide sales executives to
serve as buyers and judges, and to host a career fair. Typically,
around 80 students from 40 universities compete each year. Students
from the University of Louisville have competed each year and others have
participated in the career fair, social networking, and educational
activities.

THE
SALES CUP
The Sales Cup is an
annual sales role-play competition between students from Purdue
University and the University of Louisville. Started in 2003, the
competition site alternates between the University of Louisville and
Purdue University. Typically, 9-11 students from each university
compete against each other.

REDSHIRT COMPANY
The RedShirt Company was established in 2004 at the University of Louisville as a student-run business to build community and tradition, provide students with innovative learning experiences, and generate funds for student scholarships. These objectives are achieved by creating, producing, and marketing an annual themed t-shirt: THE REDSHIRT. The REDSHIRT is intended to be worn to all University of Louisville athletic and selected academic events. The RedShirt Company has awarded $5,000 in student scholarships since its inception.

The Louisville Sales Club
is an organization of local sales professionals. Students involved in The
Sales Program can attend the monthly breakfast meetings on the first
Tuesday of each month from 7:15am-8:30am and other club activities. Each
meeting consists of networking opportunities, breakfast, club business,
and an outside speaker on a topic related to sales.

The Spring Sell-A-Bration is an annual celebration to recognize student achievements. Members of the Student Sales Network, Louisville Sales Club, and Sales Alumni attend this event. Students are recognized for competiting or participating in the National Collegiate Sales Competition, competing in the Sales Cup, holding a leadership posiion in the RedShirt Company, and earning the Certified Sales Student Award. |
